William Wilberforce Chapin was a Congregational American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions missionary to India. The collection contains journals, correspondence, and field notes.

This collection contains reports and newsletters created or compiled by Reverend William W. Bell, a Methodist missionary working in India and Burma, and relating to his work with British prisoner of war camps during WWII through the YMCA.

William Carey was an English Baptist missionary in England, known as the "father of modern missions," who founded the English Baptist Missionary Society (1792). He translated the Bible into Bengali, and was subsequently appointed Professor of Sanskrit and Bengali at Fort William College in Calcutta. He founded the Agricultural and Horticultural Society of India (1820), as well as hundreds of schools and churches. This collection contains one handwritten letter by William Carey, written in December 9, 1800, soon after Carey had relocated from Bengal to Serampore. The letter addresses an individual who Carey calls "My Dear Bro."

This collection contains a palm leaf book with Buddhist ordination vows from Thailand, donated by Robert Ernest Hume, a missionary to India and later the Professor of the Philosophy and History of Religion and Missions at Union Theological Seminary.

Joseph H. Odell (1871-1929) was an English Primitive Methodist and then Presbyterian preacher, who became pastor of Presbyterian churches in Fulton, NY (1894-1902), Scranton, PA (1902-1914), and Troy, NY (1915-1918), and was known for his writings during World War I. The collection contains a diary kept by Odell during his trip around the world in 1905-1906 visiting missions and YMCAs, as well as an introducution to and transcription of the diary, a photo album with pictures taken along the trip, a one-page biographical timeline of Odell's life, and a list of his printed articles.

George Bowen, a graduate of Union Theological Seminary, served as a missionary in Bombay, India from 1848 until his death in 1888. Bowen was editor of the Bombay Guardian from 1854-1888. The collection includes one bound notebook containing his lectures, sermons, notes, and comments.

Franklin Grasson Davis was a Methodist minister from Clay, Ohio who served as a missionary in India from 1875-1884. The collection contains a diary from his time in the field.

Daniel Johnson Fleming was a Presbyterian missionary to India and Professor of Missions at Union Theological Seminary from 1918-1944. The collection includes a Buddhist primer, correspondence, pamphlets, and photographs.
