Correspondence, manuscripts, notes, documents, book typescripts, photographs, and printed materials covering the time from Dorfman's early interest, as a graduate student, in the economic thought of Thorstein Veblen until his retirement. Correspondence, manuscripts, documents, photographs, printed materials, and coins of Marii︠a︡ A. Svi︠a︡topolk-Mirskai︠a︡ and her son Nikolaĭ V. Svi︠a︡topolk Mirskiĭ. The correspondence is primarily from members of the Imperial family (such as Grand Duke Nikolaĭ Nikolaevich and dowager Empress Marii︠a︡ Fedorovna) to Marii︠a︡ Svi︠a︡topolk-Mirskai︠a︡. Most of it dates from the 1920's and 1930's and much of it is mounted in scrapbooks. The manuscripts include Basil Strandman's "Balkan Reminiscences." Among the documents are diplomas, certificates, passports and Imperial decrees dating back to 1832. The photographs include a photograph of Metropolitan Evlogiĭ and several dozen copies of Imperial family photographs. There are also many photographs of paintings, icons and architecture. The subject files consist of materials relating to the Notbek family, the Mariĭnskoe Sestrichestvo (to which Marii︠a︡ Svi︠a︡topolk-Mirskai︠a︡ belonged), and the Iverskai︠a︡ Church in Belgrade. Among the printed materials are 12 issues of "Khudozhestvennye Sokrovishcha Rossii" (1901)"Mʹemoires du regne de Catherine.."(Amsterdam, 1729), and "Thʹeâtre de l'Hermitage de Catherine II.."(Paris, 1799?).

Papers collected by Roman G. Mi︠a︡gkov, primarily concerning several Imperial military units, consisting of correspondence, documents, photographs, subject files, printed materials, money, and military memorabilia. There are photographs and picture postcards of the Imperial family, of soldiers (ca. 1890-1936), and of military reunions in exile. Units which turn up include the Caucasus Grenadiers Artillery Brigade, the Ninth Kiev Hussars, the Mikhaĭlov Artillery School, and the Tiflis Cadet Corps. Memorabilia include medals, ribbons, shoulder-boards, a red-blue-white Russian national flag, and guidons of the Ninth Kiev Hussars. There is also a painted icon (ca. 1920). Money includes an 1837 1 1/2 silver ruble piece, and a 1613-1913 Romanov commemorative coin, plus paper money.

Professional correspondence, diaries, unpublished articles, lecture notes, abstracts, and other manuscripts by Mitchell. Subjects include economic theory and its history, business cycles, money, national planing, anthropology and psychology, and published material by Mitchell and others.
