Incomplete set of the journal publication which had been run in New York City for more than 30 years reflecting the life of the Carpatho-Rusyns community in the United States. Carpatho-Rusyns is an East Slavic ethnic group in Central Europe.

Primarily a collection of overseas editions (small formats, light-weight paper, no advertisements) of popular magazines for the Armed Forces distrubuted by the Special Services Division, U.S. Army, and by the Bureau of Navy personnel. Among the titles represented are: Esquire; New Yorker; Newsweek; Time; Pic; Readers Digest; Down Beat; and an array of comic books. In addition, there are guides to foreign countries, War Department education manuals in the G. I. Roundtable Series, books on the organization and administration of an army library, training manuals for army hospital librarians, and a copy of the R.B. Polish dissident press printed materials (pamphlets, fliers, leaflets, newspapers, periodicals, posters and various ephemera) from 1976-1982. Materials in the first nine boxes were used in the preparation of "Polish Dissident Thinking: An Annotated Bibliography" edited by Jane L. Curry and J. Preibisz, covering 1976-1982.

The papers consist of correspondence, manuscripts, documents, photographs, and printed materials, chiefly concerning 1907-1917. They are particularly useful for the study of the second Russian State Duma (1907), the Russian Social Democratic School on Capri, the "Vpered" group of Social Democrats, the relationship between Maksim Gorḱiĭ and Leonid Andreev, and World War I. Russian Social Democratic correspondents include Aleksandr Bogdanov, Vladimir Lenin, Anatoliĭ Lunacharskiĭ, I︠U︡liĭ Martov, Georgiĭ Plekhanov, Mikhail Pokrovskiĭ, and Lev Trot︠s︡kiĭ. There are letters by such European socialists as Pablo Iglesias Posse, Karl Kautsky, Rosa Luxemburg, and Benito Mussolini, and a series of letters from Gorḱiĭ to Andreev (1899-1915). There is a large number of petitions ("nakazy" "proshenii︠a︡" etc.) sent by people to Aleksinskiĭ when he was a Duma delegate. Authors of manuscripts in the collection include Vicente Blasco Ibáñez, Gorḱiĭ, Lenin, and Lunacharskiĭ. Printed materials consist of Aleksinskiĭ's writings, issues of chiefly Russian emigre periodicals from 1908 to the 1960s, books by various persons, and ephemera.

Printed ephemera, including some periodicals. Most items concern various radical groups, such as the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party (RSDRP), the Party of Socialist-Revolutionaries (PSR), and to a lesser extent the Jewish socialist Bund, the Polish Socialist Party, and the Anarchist-Communists. Most of the materials were printed in western Europe in the period 1906-1914; later materials chiefly concern Russia in 1917-1920. While most are in Russian, there are also items in Polish, Yiddish, German, and French.

The collection consists primarily of manuscripts and clippings of articles and stories Bel'deninov wrote in the 1950s and 1960s and published in such emigre periodicals as "Russkii Put'", "Nashe Vremia" and "Rossiia". Several memoirs by Bel'deninov touch on such topics as his education in Irkutsk and St. Petersburg, his legal practice before and during the revolutionary period, and the Civil War in Siberia.
