The collection contains correspondence, manuscripts, clippings, books and periodicals. There are two letters from Aleksandr Glazunov and one each from Aleksandr Grechaninov and Nikolaĭ Metner. The manuscripts deal with both cultural affairs and the Russian Revolution. Among the cultural topics are essays on music, Isadora Duncan, Maksim Gorḱiĭ and literary affairs. There are articles about general aspects of the Revolution and about such individuals as Lenin, Stalin, Chicherin, Dzerzhinskiĭ and Kamenev. Many of the articles are memoiristic in nature, particularly those about life in Moscow and in the provinces during the Revolution, Dzerzhinskiĭ and Kamenev. There are clippings of articles written by Sabaneev and a number of books and periodicals either written by Sabaneev or containing articles by him.

The collection consists primarily of Voice of America transcripts, dating from 1950-1963. (There are also six notebooks containing notes taken during interviews). The subject files include materials of "Asotsiïatsiï Ukraïnsḱykh Universytetsḱykh Z︠h︡inok na Emihratsiï." The printed materials consist of clippings with articles by Drazhevsḱa (1947-1963), brochures, periodicals and books. The later 1-box addition contains materials from 1960s and 1970s.

Correspondence, manuscripts, documents, photographs, printed materials, and coins of Marii︠a︡ A. Svi︠a︡topolk-Mirskai︠a︡ and her son Nikolaĭ V. Svi︠a︡topolk Mirskiĭ. The correspondence is primarily from members of the Imperial family (such as Grand Duke Nikolaĭ Nikolaevich and dowager Empress Marii︠a︡ Fedorovna) to Marii︠a︡ Svi︠a︡topolk-Mirskai︠a︡. Most of it dates from the 1920's and 1930's and much of it is mounted in scrapbooks. The manuscripts include Basil Strandman's "Balkan Reminiscences." Among the documents are diplomas, certificates, passports and Imperial decrees dating back to 1832. The photographs include a photograph of Metropolitan Evlogiĭ and several dozen copies of Imperial family photographs. There are also many photographs of paintings, icons and architecture. The subject files consist of materials relating to the Notbek family, the Mariĭnskoe Sestrichestvo (to which Marii︠a︡ Svi︠a︡topolk-Mirskai︠a︡ belonged), and the Iverskai︠a︡ Church in Belgrade. Among the printed materials are 12 issues of "Khudozhestvennye Sokrovishcha Rossii" (1901)"Mʹemoires du regne de Catherine.."(Amsterdam, 1729), and "Thʹeâtre de l'Hermitage de Catherine II.."(Paris, 1799?).

Papers include materials relating to the Russian forces in France (correspondence, reports, orders) in 1915-1918, and documents relating to Dutov's army in 1919-1920. Also included are three manuscripts by Karkhanin. Two are memoirs, on Dutov's army in 1919-1920 and its retreat to China in 1920; the third is about the Russian corps in France in World War I. There are also issues of "Russkai︠a︡ Mysl"́ with Karkharin's articles about the Russian forces in Macedonia and France in World War I, and a brief biography of Karkhanin by his wife.

The collection includes correspondence, manuscripts, documents, photographs, and printed materials. Most of the correspondence dates from the 1950s and early 1960s, when Boi︠a︡rint︠s︡ev was head of the Ob'edinenie chinov Kornilovskago udarnago polka, an emigre veterans' organization, and relates to the affairs of this and similar groups. The manuscripts include campaign memoirs and a memoir called, "Epokha 1937-1965 gg." dealingwith events in the world of the White veteran's groups written by Boi︠a︡rint︠s︡ev; and a memoir of the First World War by a Captain I︠A︡. G. Shinin. Official documents relating to the military service of both Boi︠a︡rint︠s︡ev and Shinin are found in the collection, as well as some regimental and army orders of the Revolution-Civil War period. There is a photograph of Genral L.G. Kornilov; a large number of photographs of the White Army encampment at Gallipoli, of the Imperial family, White officers' reunions, funerals, dedication ceremonies etc. Printed materials include: a folder of printed engravings of varied content (portraits of the Imperial family, White officers, members of the White Russian community in Shanghai; and illustrations of various incidents in the Civil War; a complete set through 1965 of the emigre newsletter "Kornilovt︠s︡y" (Nos. 1-6; 1952_65); 7 issues of the "Vestnik pervopokhodnika" (Nos. 82-91; Aug. '68-May '70); and books, pamphlets, and jubilee volumes concerning Tsar Nicholas II, the White movement, General Kornilov, and the Mladorossy.

Martynov's typescript memoirs (in all 1000 p.) discuss the Civil War and his life in China in 1923-1948. There are also Martynov's diaries from the early 1950s. Printed materials include issues of emigre periodicals published in China in the 1930s ("Parus," "Rubezh"), and issues of "Chasovoĭ" from the 1950s.

Markov's papers consist of correspondence, a brief biography (apparently by his nephew), and printed materials. Correspondence in this collection consists of letters to a nephew named Seva. Printed materials include issues of "Mirovai︠a︡ Sluzhba" (1936-38), and two books by Markov: "Voĭny temnykh sil" (Paris, 1928), and "Otrechennye dni fevralśkoĭ revoli︠u︡t︠s︡ii 1917 goda" (Harbin, 1938).

The collection includes correspondence, manuscripts by Melńikov and others, documents, photographs, subject files and printed materials. There is a cataloged letter from George Kennan. Correspondence consists primarily of letters from various members of the Don Cossacks in exile, including General A.P. Bogaevskiĭ, Melńikov, and General V.V. Naumenko. Manuscripts include Melńikov's typescript memoirs "Pochemu 'belye' na i︠u︡ge ne pobedili krasnykh?"(230 p.). Reports, by members of the Don government in exile, are on the economy of Southeast Russia. Photographs and documents concern the Don Cossacks. Subject files primarily cover the Don Cossacks during the Civil War in exile. They include several signed letters and memos by General Denikin dated 1920. The financial records of the Don government in exile cover the years 1921-1926. The bulk of the printed materials consists of issues No. 51-272 (1930-1939) of the journal "Volńoe kazachestvo," published in Prague and later in Paris. Among the printed materials there is also a pamphlet dated 1919 and entitled "Vremennoe polozhenie o grazhdanskom upravlenii v mestnosti︠a︡kh, nakhodi︠a︡schikhsi︠a︡ pod verkhovnym upravleniem glavnokomandui︠u︡schego vooruzhennymi silami na i︠u︡ge Rossii." The majority of the material in the collection concerns the Don Cossacks in emigration.
