The bulk of the collection relates to awards, honorary degrees, and other honors bestowed on I. I. Rabi during the latter half of his career. It contains correspondence, manuscript drafts, pamphlets, lectures, articles, interviews, reports, panel discussions, transcripts, books, and conference materials about Rabi's work. Includes photographs, VHS recordings, audiocassettes, scrapbooks, and press clippings related to his career. Subjects include science, atomic energy and weapons, peace, education, NATO, history, government, world affairs, and honors. Also includes awards, honorary degrees, certificates, medals, and other memorabilia. In addition, correspondence regarding his estate, the awards established in his honor, and related memorials. These were the materials that I.I. Rabi's widow, Helen Newmark Rabi, did not donate to the Library of Congress but kept as her own mementos.

Research notes include typed and handwritten notes, copies of treaties and diplomatic correspondence, etc. related to international treaties and arbitrations. The Manuscripts consist of handwritten and typed manuscripts for several of Moore's publications, including his Digest of International Law (1906) and his International Adjudications (1929-1933). The Published materials consist of the House of Commons Parliamentary Papers, government reports from British colonial offices, U.S. government and judicial decisions, reprints of Moore's academic articles and speeches. International Meeting notes include typed pages of internal memoranda, agendas, and stenographic notes related to meetings of the International Labour Office (1920s-1930s) and the International Opium Conference (1924-1925). Professor of Political Science at Columbia (including several stints as Chair of the Department), 1955-1994, The collection includes archival ms. boxes and record cartons, as well as non-archival cartons. Each unit is accompanied by a detailed accession slip; boxes had no original numbering, so for surveying purposes, a number was penciled onto the accession slip and recorded as the original unit number. There is little to no organization of the material, which is mainly loose office paper (largely correspondence and manuscripts) housed in non-archival envelopes and folders, or loose, and bound academic journals and pamphlets. Most of the material covers the topics of Eastern European/Russian Studies, and there is much academic and administrative material as well. There is a significant amount of material in German, Russian, Polish; some Hebrew, French, and Spanish.

This collection consists of journalist William G. Lambert's (1920-1998) collected investigative materials such as correspondence, news clippings, notes, notebooks, photographs and transcripts related to his award winning reporting for The Oregonian, Portland, and for Life magazine. In 1957, Lambert and his college Wallace Turner received the Pulitzer Prize for their reporting, which uncovered widespread vice and corruption within the municipal Portland city government that involved labor union officials of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Chauffeurs, Warehousemen and Helpers of America, Western Conference. In 1970, Lambert accepted the George Polk Award for his Life magazine reporting, which revealed that Supreme Court Justice Abe Fortas accepted and later returned a suspect $20,000 fee, spurring Fortas' resignation.
