Abstract

"Talk to the Taliesin Fellowship" was a regular lecture series at Taliesin where Wright addressed the fellows and apprentices on a range of philosophical and personal topics. The collection consists of transcripts of those talks as well as additional talks given by Wright to various public audiences.

Description

Scope and Content

Series I: Talks to the Taliesin Fellowship includes transcripts of 236 of those talks dating from 1948 until a few weeks prior to Wright’s death in 1959. The format of the transcripts are unbound typescripts. About 50 of those transcripts include manuscript annotations likely in Wright's hand.

Series II: Other talks, interviews and lectures includes 57 transcripts of various talks, interviews and lectures given by Wright to a public audience.

[RESTRICTION: Audio recordings exist for nearly all of the talks represented in this collection. Those audio recordings are currently closed for research pending preservation work.]

Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959) was an American architect internationally recognized for his innovative building design, the Taliesin architecture school and fellowship, and his philosophy of "organic architecture."
