The Joan Laskoff Papers consists entirely of material collected by Joan Laskoff for the 1996 documentary Pulitzer and What He Prized. This record of the film, written and directed by Laskoff, is primarily in the form of photographic copies of images used, which depict the life and times of Hungarian-American publisher Joseph Pulitzer (1847-1911). Color slides of these images as well as indexes to the images are also included. The collection explores the professional, political, and personal life of Pulitzer, whose legacy includes the formation of the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and the Pulitzer Prize. The collection offers insight into American journalism and the larger economic, political, and social environment during Pulitzer's time.
This collection is arranged into one series.
