History / Biographical Note

History

An emigre organization established in 1945 in New York, which after 1956 became known as the Nadejda Volunteer Aid Society, Inc. The organization was active in giving financial support to its members and in organizing cultural activities until its demise in 1968. The collection contains correspondence, manuscripts, a subject file, minutes of meetings, membership applications, addresses, membership records, financial records and printed materials, all relating to the Society. Cataloged correspondents include Mark Aldanov, Mikhail Karpovich and George Fedotov.
