Correspondence, manuscripts, minutes, lists, and legal documents, financial records, publicity materials, and printed items. Among the correspondents are: Anna Freud, Ernst L. Freud, Erich Fromm, Ernest Jones, Rollo May, Karl Menninger, Henry Miller, and Anaïs Nin, a frequent lecturer at meetings. There are 117 letters from Nin discussing her lecture tours and the publication of her diaries.

The Otto Rank Association was planned by J. Jessie Taft and founded by Virginia P. Robinson in 1965 to foster and develop interest in the writings of Otto Rank, the psychoanaylyst, to promote further exploration of his concepts and their meaning for art, literature, psychology, psychotherapy, and the history of culture through publication, translation, discussion, and research; and to establish an information center regarding these and related writings. Otto Rank was an early associate and later opponent of Sigmund Freud. The Association was disolved in 1983.
