Description

Scope and Content

Personal and professional correspondence of Fiske, including that of the Columbia University Mathematics Department. The material consists principally of letters received by Dr. Fiske from contemporary mathematicians, teachers, and organizations in the field of mathematics. Also present are some copies of letters written by Fiske.

Biographical Note

Mathematician. Fiske (1865-1944) was professor of mathematics at Columbia University, and chairman of that department for many years. He was also an officer of the American Mathematical Society.
