Illustrated autograph manuscript, 117p.
Box 29
(Manuscript text in Kent's hand with 57 pages of illustrations, including ink sketches, watercolor drawings, and pencil and pastel drawings by Kent using several pseudonyms. This was a collaborative effort of the 24-year old Kent and his friend James Gillespie Blaine Ewing. The two produced this holograph periodical in an edition of two copies for each number. The copies were for the only subscribers: their mothers. The text is presumably a collaborative effort by Ewing and Kent and includes poems, song lyrics, short stories, a novella, and various parodies of advertisements, news stories, letters from readers, etc. This is Virginia Larwill Miller Ewing (Mrs Charles Ewing)'s copy. Binding: Boards, detached but present, with watercolor drawings by Kent. Modern half black morocco folding-case, spine gilt-lettered and with image of the Blue Mouse on his throne in variously colored morocco onlays
