Evgenii Nikolaevich Gagarin Papers, 1915-1972

Papers consist of manuscripts and printed materials. Manuscripts include a typescript memoir by Gagarin about Simferopol in 1917-18, two brief essays by Gagarin on the rivers Neva and Volga, and a typed copy of a letter from a soldier in World War I to a nurse. Printed materials include scattered issues of and clippings from "Russkoe Slovo" one issue of "Sei︠a︡teĺ" two issues of "Chasovoĭ" three issues of "Russkiĭ Invalid" and twenty-one issues of "Osvedomitel ́Leĭb-Egereĭ" and a copy of "Epizody proshlogo. Rasskazy iz zhizni avtora i izbrannye stikhotvorenii︠a︡" (Buenos Aires, 1972), a collection of poems and brief memoiristic essays, manuscripts of some which are among Gagarin's papers.

Georgii Aleksandrovich Teslavskii Papers, 1860-1968

Manuscripts, documents, photographs and printed materials of Georgiĭ A. Teslavskiĭ. Teslavskiĭ's manuscripts include a three-volume autobiographical novel entitled "Burelom" that chiefly deals with the 1917 Revolution and the Northwestern front during the Civil War. "Vospominanii︠a︡" discusses Teslavskiĭ's education, military service during World War I and the Civil War and emigration to Argentina. Among the documents is a certificate issued to Teslavskiĭ's grandfather during the reign of Aleksandr II. There are four photographs of Teslavskiĭ, a few caricatures of Russian army officers and members of the Semenov chorus in Warsaw, 1943, and copies of "Sei︠a︡tel"́ and "Smena" periodicals published by the emigre community in Buenos Aires.

Georgii Ivanovich Shavel'skii Papers, 1920-1950

The collection primarily consists of unpublished manuscripts by Shavelśkiĭ. There are also letters from Shavelśkiĭ to his daughter (Marii︠a︡ Novit︠s︡kai︠a︡), several photographs of Shavelśkiĭ, clippings and miscellaneous printed items. Shavelśkiĭ's manuscripts include his memoirs (1920) which describe church affairs in Russia, World War I, the Imperial family and the 1917 Revolution; "Nabroski s natury" (1947), a series of brief essays and stories; "Pokhod protiv Rasputina" (n.d.); "Russkai︠a︡ t︠s︡erkov ́pred revoli︠u︡t︠s︡ieĭ" (1937); and "V dobrovolćheskoĭ armii" (1943), which describes Shavelśkiĭ's service as an army chaplain. Other manuscripts include brief sketches of Shavelśkiĭ by Feodor Bokach and N.N. Glubokovskiĭ.

Pavel Alekseevich Sokolov Manuscripts, 1929-1966

Memoirs and manuscripts of Sokolov. The memoirs pertain to his military service in 1914-1920. The most detailed account is "Kak ono bylo" describing primarily World War I. Shorter works include: "I︠U︡g Rossii" which describes the founding of the State Guard (Gosudarstvennai︠a︡ Strazha), which was supposed to replace the Imperial Police (1915); "Dobroarmii︠a︡--k sorokaletii︠u︡ kont︠s︡a vooruzhennoĭ Beloĭ Borb́y" which describes the 1917 Revolution and the formation of the White Army in Moscow, Kiev and Odessa; a lecture read in Paris, on March 12, 1929, entitled "Svi︠a︡tokrestovskiĭ Partizanskiĭ otri︠a︡d--v borb́e protiv krasnykh v 1920 godu i otkhod otri︠a︡da v Gruzii︠u︡." Also included is a typed copy of an unpublished novel entitled "Valerii︠a︡ and Vera" under his pseudonym Sokolovsky.

Sergei Mikhailovich Kravchinskii Papers, 1880-1930

The papers consist primarily of letters from Kravchinskiĭ to his wife, Fanni; these are in a numbered sequence, which does not appear to be fully chronological, and some are incomplete. There are also 3 items from Petr Kropotkin and 1 from Eduard Bernstein, and other correspondence. There is a manuscript by Kravchinskiĭ in memory of Mykhaĭlo Drahomaniv, and photographs of Kravchinskiĭ and of his wife.

Vladimir I. Maiborodov Manuscripts, 1956-1962

The collection consists of manuscripts, memoirs and a printed item. Manuscripts consist of poems by Maĭborodov, including a typescript of a poema entitled "Bogdan Khmelńit︠s︡kiĭ." The memoirs primarily concern the years 1900-1938 and include Maĭborodov's reminiscences as a student at St. Petersburg University (1900-1904) and his reminiscences of his service as a zemstvo chief in the Volyni︠a︡n, Podoli︠a︡n, Bessarabian and Kherson provinces from 1904-1916. The printed item is an off-print (61 p.) of a memoir entitled "S frant︠s︡uzami," which was published in "Arkhiv Russkoĭ Revoli︠u︡tsii." In the collection it is part of the memoir "Vo vremi︠a︡ smuty (pri vremennom pravitelśtve) [1917-1920]."
